“Photograph the world as it is. Nothing’s more interesting than reality.”

ATLANTA, GEORGIA // DOCUMENTARY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER
Hi! I’m Megan and I’m a documentary family photographer with a heart for real-life connection and emotion in my images. When my children were little, I found myself drawn to the images of their childhood that showed both our reality and a strong emotional element.
These images were far more than just a snapshot.
I am inspired by light, shadows and all the feelings. I strive to bring that to every family I photograph. I’m here to help you celebrate your family life and all the moments that go with it. When those moments are real and raw they become the ones you never forget.
This is not about perfection, but finding your story in the every day.
There is beauty in the way your laundry pile grows taller every day.
There is beauty when your toddler throws a tantrum.
There is beauty in the crumbs on the floor.
There is beauty in the scraped knees.
There is beauty in the light AND the dark.
There is beauty in your every day.
Let me help you see it.
It came to me that what I had to do was to take pictures and concentrate on people, only people, all kinds of people, people who paid me and people who didn’t.
-Autiki Giddens Townsend
It’s always been my philosophy to try to make art out of the everyday and ordinary...it never occurred to me to leave home to make art.
“There’s no place like home”
-Dorothy, THE WIZARD OF OZ
Your home is your sanctuary and where relationships are formed and nurtured. There is no other place you can be completely at ease and fall into the rhythms of your family life.
Your life is not directed and neither should you be.
“Life doesn't get more real than having a newborn at home.”
-Eric Church
Whether at the lake, beach or across the World,
I’m here to document all your family adventures.
Portraits don’t have to look a certain way.
In fact, I’d argue that the best portrait is the one that tells a story about that person. I discovered with my own children that bringing in the environment added depth and a richness to their faces.
Environmental Portraits can be woven into your Day in the Life or Kids in the Wild Session to provide you with imagery that is as unique as you are.
A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.
