I never intended these pictures to be for my November 10 on 10 project. In fact, I never expected to even get around to editing them. I'm so glad I did!

This year we decided to hang out with some friends from Maddie's school at their local neighborhood Halloween party. We were still in the midst of putting our own costumes together (life with 3 kids!) so we did our best to at least wear clothes with Fall colors and be festive. There was a parade, cute costumes and the spread of food was incredible! My boys clung to my leg most of the time and devoured at least 5 cookies a piece before the party was over but hey that's what Halloween parties are all about, right?

When I was going back through these pictures there was one thing that stood out to me that has been in my mind and my heart lately these days. My daughter is growing up way too fast. I can hardly believe she is rounding the corner to her 7th birthday. Time really flies and it's so important to soak up all the details. The big kids were off doing their own thing. Playing with dart guns and other costume accessories, climbing walls, separating themselves from the adults and showing more independence than I am quite ready for.

She left my side for the entire party (except when I could sneak up on her to take these) and for the first time I felt that ache in my heart to know she's no longer a baby and might just be okay without me. At the end of the day as we were walking back to the car she gave me about two seconds to take a shot of her in front of the brick building holding her skeleton face balloon.

It's my favorite because she's in it. I'm not sure how long I have until she no longer wants to be but today I'm grateful she is! Hope your November is full of gratitude and memories.
